We are looking for People Lead to join our team in Warsaw. You will be holding disciplinary leadership for Hub's team members. Functional and technical leads own the delivery work, so your focus stays on the people: performance, development, careers and team stability.
The team is spread across several projects and units. Some teams are staffed entirely from the Hub, others include one specialist from Warsaw working alongside international colleagues. You get to know people through regular one-to-one meetings and stay in touch with the functional leads they work with. You also work closely with stakeholders across the Group, bringing the perspective of the Warsaw team into shared decisions on people topics and keeping our practices connected to the wider organisation.
What you will do
- Build trust through regular one-to-one meetings - you are the constant point of contact for people whose projects and teams change over time.
- Lead performance and development across the Hub - goal setting, performance reviews, development planning, compensation discussions and talent reviews. You give feedback throughout the year, so nothing in a review comes as a surprise.
- Coach experienced professionals - most of them can solve their own problems once they have talked them through. You bring the right questions, an outside perspective and a direct answer when someone is stuck.
- Build and improve people and organisational processes with local leadership - after the merger, a lot of how we work here is still being defined. You design the processes and lead the change so that they are adopted in practice.
- Help shape team structures and ways of working as the organisation evolves, and support people through the change.
- Take part in recruitment for the Hub - from defining requirements, attracting candidates to selection decisions.
- Work with Group stakeholders on people topics - including quarterly visits to Switzerland (in the beginning probably even often :)).
Who are we looking for?
This role is for you if you:
- Have at least 5 years of experience leading people in an IT organisation - including the difficult parts: underperformance, conflict management and leading a team through reorganisation.
- Have led people spread across different teams or projects - you form your view of performance and potential through conversations with the person and with several functional leads.
- Have a technical background - code review is not part of the role, but your days involve conversations about technical debt, on-call and changing requirements, and understanding them is how engineers come to trust your judgement.
- Lead through coaching, feedback and clear expectations - you are comfortable giving direct feedback and having the conversations people do not look forward to.
- Are pragmatic about what leadership involves - you care about the people you lead, and you are at ease working within a budget, backing a decision you did not make and saying what someone does not want to hear.
- Communicate fluently in Polish and English, German is a plus - conversations about performance, uncertainty and personal plans go better in someone's own language. English is how you work with colleagues across the Group.
- Want to work from our Warsaw office at least 1x/week - being present is how you notice when something is off and stay available for the conversation nobody scheduled.
- Are available to travel to Switzerland quarterly - relationships built in person are what let you get answers for your team quickly.
What you can expect from us?
We want to provide you with everything you need to succeed. To do that, we offer a bunch of benefits:
- Paid time off: Enjoy 30 paid days off per year.
- Flexible benefits budget: Additional budget that can be used for both personal or professional development.
- Additional budget to support you in learning German
- Comprehensive medical coverage: Full private healthcare for you and your family, including rehabilitation, psychotherapy and dental services.
- Home office allowance: Support for a comfortable and productive remote work setup.
How will the recruitment process look?
We’d love to welcome our new team member as soon as possible, so the process is simple and includes just two steps:
- First meeting - video call with HR Manager (~1h)
- Second meeting - meeting in the office with the Head of People & Operations and Agile Coach (~2h)
-
Third meeting - meeting in the office with Head of Delivery and Managing Director (~1h)
